My friendly petition for Amazon.com

A book is not a sewing machine or dog collar or tennis racquet or gourmet popcorn. Amazon sells a great range of products and allows consumers to rate and review them which is great. They then recognize Top Reviewers for their efforts. However, they do not differentiate between the very different product categories. So why should my book review of “War and Peace” be weighted the same as another consumer’s review of a ceiling fan?

By all means, Amazon can provide an aggregated total of all reviews across all categories for interest. But this petition asks that they provide segmented Reviewer Rankings by each of the product categories they have in their “drop-down” menu of what they offer. Fair is fair and this would make the whole exercise more relevant. Please sign this petition by following link below so I may share with Amazon.com in the spirit of improvement as they did not answer me when I suggested it directly.
